The north vent and south fountains during episode 42 of the ongoing Kilauea summit eruption observed from the west rim inside the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, February 15, 2026 near Hilo, Hawaii. Substantial tephra falls from the fountains with some fragments impacting the surface semi-molten and shattering to create an incandescent ''sparking'' effect.
