A "China Rodeo" float with a depiction of a man on a Volkswagen is parked in a hall belonging to the Braunschweig Carnival Committee. The "Schoduvel", which is the largest carnival parade in northern Germany at around five kilometers in length, starts next Sunday. Around 130 floats and more than 5,000 participants transform the city into the carnival center of the north.
