A three-day-old lamb of the East Prussian Skudde jumps across a meadow. The Skudde is considered one of the oldest domestic sheep breeds in Europe - robust, frugal and at the same time highly endangered. Its place on the Red List of endangered livestock breeds makes every birth a small glimmer of hope.
