Between countless colorful poinsettias in a greenhouse, two wooden reindeer stand while gardener Manja Jannke sorts plants for sale. Here in this greenhouse, the popular plants are currently shining again in many colors and shapes. The ornamental plant, which belongs to the spurge family, is in high season in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Around 5,000 poinsettias grow here and are prepared for wholesale and retail in Berlin and Brandenburg.
