Personnel deployed on HMS Trent, the Royal Navy Batch 2 OPV based in the Caribbean to provide Disaster Relief have arrived in Jamaica as part of a request from the Government of Jamaica and the FCDO. They are supporting with a Crisis Response Team to assist where required.
HMS Trent is currently deployed to the Caribbean and North Atlantic as part of Atlantic Patrol Tasking (North), the Royal Navy's standing commitment to the region in support of the United Kingdom's Overseas Territories, maintaining readiness to provide assistance throughout core hurricane season, as well as working alongside allies and partners to enhance regional maritime security, including countering illegal drug trafficking.
