27-year-old serviceman of the Russian Federation Dmytro Kurashov, accused of committing a war crime (the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war) sentenced to life imprisonment during a hearing at the Zaporizhzhia District Court. The convicted soldier fired three shots from an assault rifle at Senior Soldier Vitalii Hodniuk of the 127th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who had surrendered, was unarmed, and was kneeling with his hands raised. Later the same day, Ukrainian soldiers recaptured the position and took Kurashov prisoner.
