The Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal is supported significantly by many civilian agencies, emergency services, businesses and influential figureheads and VIPs. Its importance goes beyond fundraising, through creating and strengthening positive associations between the armed forces community and the public in support of the Poppy Appeal

The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s largest fundraising campaign held every year in October/November, the period of Remembrance.

The first Poppy Appeal was held in 1921 in London and the Poppy became a symbol of Remembrance and hope, including hope for a peaceful future.
