Iranian protesters take part in a rally outside the former U.S. embassy in Tehran, marking the 46th anniversary of the Iran hostage crisis. In 1979, Iranian students took 52 embassy staff hostage for 444 days, demanding the U.S. hand over the recently toppled Shah, who was receiving cancer treatment in America. The crisis began with the embassy occupation and ended on January 20, 1981.
