Around 6 p.m. on October 2, demonstrators gathered in central Stockholm in support of ships headed for Gaza that had been boarded by Israeli forces. The protest began at Sergels Torg and moved along Drottninggatan toward the parliament but was stopped by police. The march then continued to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, where participants lacked a permit to demonstrate. Tents were set up outside the entrance and access was blocked, but police quickly removed the tents. Scuffles broke out and several people were arrested on charges including disobedience to law enforcement and violent resistance. Two people were taken to hospital, and police deployed significant resources in the area, including mounted units and dogs.
