Outside of the employees entrance at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattans Civic Center a demonstrator with Rise and Resist holds a sign that reads 'THE FABRIC OF OUR SOCIETY IS BEING TORN APART BY DEPORTATIONS' at an immigration vigil protesting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and ICE agents for abducting migrants. The building houses immigration courts where Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and ICE agents are detaining immigrants after their routine hearings. Law enforcement officers must walk past a long line of protesters as they exit the building on their lunch hour. Demonstrators denounce the policies of President Trump, T. Homan, K. Noem and S. Miller as inhumane.
