Oleksandr Zhavnenko, 36, a veteran of the 12th Special Forces Brigade, dances on prosthetic legs with his wife Marichka Zhavnenko at the House of Scholars for the first time since losing his lower limbs. Oleksandr Zhavnenko and his wife Marichka met in the Mriia (Dream) folk dance ensemble. Later, when the war between Russia started he became a drone operator at the Azov Brigade. But in October 2024, a Russian shell hit Oleksandr’s position, and he lost both lower limbs. Since sustaining the serious injury, he's been dreaming of returning to playing sports, travelling and going out on the dance floor with his beloved Marichka once again
