GoPro Footage from RAF Coningsby based Typhoons flying with the RAF Red Arrows and an RAF P-8 Poseidon over London for the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Pilots, Support Personnel and Typhoon (Eurofighter) Aircraft from RAF Coningsby have participated in the VE Day 80th Anniversary Flypast over The Mall and Buckingham Palace in London as part of the nation’s commemorative events to mark Victory in Europe in 1945. Pilots prepared and departed from RAF Coningsby to meet up with the rest of the participating aircraft on May 5th 2025. Typhoon Multi Role Aircraft were launched by 29 Sqn and 12 Sqn from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, and joined a host of other RAF aircraft including the P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft, the A400M Transport Aircraft, fifth generation F-35 Aircraft and the RAF Aerobatic Team the Red Arrows. VE Day marks the anniversary of the Allied victory over Occupied Europe which was secured officially on 8th May 1945. RAF Coningsby is a main operating base in Lincolnshire, England and is home to two frontline combat Typhoon Squadrons, a joint UK-Qatari Training Squadron, a Typhoon training Squadron and a Test and Evaluation Squadron. It is also home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and provides 24/7, 365 days a year Typhoon Quick Reaction Alert cover to the United Kingdom.
