A "Pretty bare" float shows Boris Pistorius (SPD), Federal Minister of Defense. Under the motto "It's nice to celebrate in Meenz, but don't forget se Zugplakett!", the traditional Rose Monday parade takes place at the height of the street carnival. The organizer, the Mainzer Carneval-Verein 1838 e.V. (MCV), expects over 600,000 visitors and around 9,500 total participants.
