Caption:
National average price of eggs has hit a new all-time high in January 2025, getting to more than 15% in just a month to $4.95 for a dozen large grade a eggs, according to data from the US Bureau of labor statistics. The farms hardest hit by the bird flu outbreak, who were major suppliers to the supermarkets, are currently in the process of rebuilding their flocks. It's expected the egg shortage which has stemmed from those biosecurity protocols could take months to resolve.
