The inhabitants of San Bartolom de Pinares celebrate the festival of the luminaries every January 16 in honor of the patron saint of animals, Saint Anthony the Abbot. It is a tradition that dates back 500 years with the aim of purifying the animals with the smoke of the bonfires and protecting them for the coming year.
