Headline: Outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Germany
Caption:
Goats stand on a farm and eat hay. Following the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in water buffalo in Brandenburg, further animals have to be culled due to protective measures. Today, 55 goats and sheep as well as three cattle are to be culled as a precautionary measure on a farm in Schöneiche (Oder-Spree district), according to a spokeswoman for the district. The background to this is that the farm had purchased hay from the affected buffalo farm in Hönow.
