The United Methodist Community Church in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles was engulfed in flames during the second day of the devastating Palisades wildfires. The blaze has already consumed over 15,000 acres and destroyed more than 1,000 structures. Actress Jamie Lee Curtis took to Instagram and Facebook to share her personal connection to the church, writing: "This is the church in the Palisades that had a beautiful Sunday school and school and was a gorgeous house of worship. It’s also the building where I got sober 25 years ago."
