Farmers and their supporters gather in London’s Whitehall opposite Downing Street for a second time in a month to protest against the new inheritance tax regulations introduced by Labour chancellor RACHEL REEVES in her Autumn budget. Farmers will in 2026 pay 20% inheritance tax on assets over £1million rather than pass them on tax free to members of their family. Farmers complain that they are not cash rich and tax bills of this type will led to family farms having to sell off parcels of land or other assets to pay the bills.
