On Tuesday 10 December 2024, The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer, visited RAF Akrotiri.

During the visit, Sir Keir Starmer addressed military personnel from the Station during a live TV broadcast.

Following this, he took the time to be introduced to a number of personnel before travelling across to the Junior Ranks Diner where he spent time meeting more personnel and their families over lunch (some of which he served).

RAF Akrotiri is the home of the Cyprus Operations Support Unit (COSU) which provides joint support to British Forces Cyprus (BFC) and operations in the region to protect the UKís strategic interest.
