The procession begins with a torchlit march from Saint-Germain-l Auxerrois Church to the cathedral s square, in anticipation of Notre-Dame s reopening on December 7, 2024. The cathedral was severely damaged in a fire on April 15, 2019, which destroyed its iconic spire and spread to the wooden roof.
