Protesters wear costumes inspired by the Handmaid's Tale that are recognised as a symbol of female oppression faced by women of Iran.

The protesters are also highlighting the plight of Ahoo Daryaei who stripped down to her underwear after being harassed by paramilitary forces for not wearing the hijab correctly on November 02 2024 she remains detained.

This action has turned her into symbol of resistance against Iran's strict dress code laws
