These huge lines of traffic can be seen on Interstate-275 near Tampa, Florida, on Monday (07October2024) as residents try to flee ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Milton.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office said I-275 northbound heading into Pasco County was seeing “heavy traffic”.

Other residents have been boarding up their homes and businesses.

Hurricane Milton strengthened into a Category 5 storm incredibly fast on Monday, as its wind speeds grew by roughly 90 mph in about 25 hours.

Officials have warned that it poses a threat to life in Florida.
