Tower Hamlets council has made a proposal for a ‘Culturally Sensitive Substance Misuse recovery centre’/‘drug rehabilitation service’ to be built on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of 15 Chandler Street, Wapping.
Members of the community gathered outside today to campaign against the location of the proposed centre. They do not agree that the facilities should be within the same building as a nursery catering for 1-4 year olds. They believe it would make more sense for these provisions to be located more centrally within the borough so that they are more accessible and usable.
