Headline: Severe flooding hits Austria
Caption:
Sheep are on a pasture at risk of flooding on the German-Polish border river Oder. The water level of the Oder here, at the confluence of the Neisse and Oder rivers, has risen by around one meter in two days to 2.74 meters (as of 16.09.2024, 12 noon). The water levels in the Neisse, Oder and Elbe continue to rise. In Poland, the Czech Republic and Austria, the situation is already dramatically worsening. Flooding could occur on some rivers in Brandenburg in the coming days. The State Office for the Environment (LfU) is expecting drastically rising water levels on the Oder in the coming days.
