British troops stationed at Cyprus’ Dhekelia garrison got a treat most fans would die for on Sunday (8September2024) - a musicla visit from pop superstar Ed Sheeran.

The world-famous troubadour was in Cyprus for the final two shows of his Mathematics tour, but despite his busy schedule, he was keen to meet service personnel and their excited families.

Sheeran spent the afternoon speaking with soldiers, signing autographs, taking selfies and sharing stories, followed by an intimate acoustic performance held at Dhekelia rugby pitch.

During the show, Sheeran played some of his most-loved songs for an audience of active-duty service members and their families.

Many soldiers and families expressed their excitement about the opportunity of meeting Sheeran, with one stating, “How lucky are we! I can’t believe it. It means a lot that someone like him would take time to come and support us. We love you Ed.”

The visit concluded with Sheeran taking photos with families, leaving behind an unforgettable memory for everyone involved, before going to play the grand finale show to a sold out, recording breaking Cyprus audience at Larnaca’s Land of Tomorrow venue.
