View of flames and embers on the Königsberg in the Harz Mountains below the Brocken. According to a spokesman for the Harz district, many areas of fire had merged and a larger fire front had developed. Around 150 firefighters are now working on the ground. Three airplanes and a helicopter were also involved in the fire-fighting work.
