West Wales Shire Horse Society Annual Show is an important day in the Shire horse calendar. The event held in Aberaeron, West Wales, draws people and competitors from all over the UK. Shire horses are considered a rare breed, so to see this many shires at one event dedicated to them is quite special. The West Wales Shire Horse Society was established in 2005 to encourage and promote the Shire Horse Breed. John Fletcher from Gentle Giants Shire Horses, was recently awarded an MBE for his services to the conservation of shire horses.
