On July 7, 2024, the group Antifa Paris Banlieu called on people to wait for the results of the second round of the French elections at 8 p.m. at the Republique and to react depending on the outcome. Tens of thousands of people responded to this call and after the Nouveau Front Populaire won, the celebrations continued well into the night. There was hardly any violence, only briefly interrupted by a group of right-wingers.
