On Saturday evening the crew of Drago 63 of the Piedmont flight department rescued the duo on the east face of Monviso. The adventurous pair, who remained in good health, were unable to continue in any direction due to the deterioration of the snow cover and found themselves stuck at the top of a peak. Their recovery was carried out by helicopter using a rescue winch.
