The Royal Navy carrier, which was due to sail on Sunday, is replacing HMS Queen Elizabeth on the NATO exercise after it broke down a week earlier. Exercise Steadfast Defender is the largest NATO exercise since the Cold War. Despite the delay to its departure, cheering crowds saw off the carrier as it left for Norway.
