IDF special forces rescued the two brothers in law in an overnight military operation dubbed Operation Golden Hand. Merman and Har were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Itzhak on October 7th, 2023 along with 3 other family members. Some 134 hostages remain in captivity.
