These images and video footage show a helicopter carrying two rescued hostages touching down at the Sheba Tel Hashomer hospital in Israel on Monday (12February2024).
Announcing the rescue of the hostages, taken by Hamas on 7 October, Israeli officials said: “During a joint IDF, ISA, and Israel Police operation in Rafah, overnight, two Israeli hostages were rescued, Fernando Simon Marman (60) and Louis Har (70), who were kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization on October 7th from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak.
“They are both in a good medical condition, and were transferred for medical examination at the Sheba Tel Hashomer hospital.”
IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, added: "This was a complex rescue operation under fire in the heart of Rafah, based on highly sensitive and valuable intelligence from the Intelligence Directorate and the Israel Security Agency."
There are still believed to be 134 hostages in Hamas captivity. Israeli officials said they will “operate with all means in order to return the hostages home”.
