Participants dressed only in loincloths pray in a pool of freezing-cold water during the annual midwinter ice water bathing (Kanchu-Suiyoku) purification ceremony at Teppozu Inari Shrine. About 87 brave participants joined the purification ritual to pray for a healthy new year
