Ecuadorian police carry out patrols and searches in the historic center of the city. In view of the escalating gang violence in Ecuador, President Noboa has declared the clashes between criminal gangs and security forces to be an internal armed conflict. The armed forces have been ordered to carry out operations against around 20 criminal organizations, according to a decree published on Tuesday.
