After 196 days of occupation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the city on September 10, 2022. Before the full-scale invasion, 27 thousand people lived here, but the proximity to the front line and daily shelling by the Russian occupiers forced most residents to leave their homes and move away. Like many settlements on the front line, the town looks half-empty, but it continues to live.
