The outdoor enclosure for the Humboldt penguins is empty. A day earlier, a dead penguin was discovered in the facility and caused a police operation because the animal apparently died a violent death. The birds therefore had to move to the pelican house as a precaution. According to dpa information, it is now considered likely that a fox killed the penguin.
