Police officers stand on the roof of the Lower Saxony state parliament next to activists from Greenpeace, who had hung a banner against gas drilling off the North Sea island of Borkum at the state parliament. Because of the Greenpeace protest at the Lower Saxony state parliament, special police forces also arrived. The SEK was needed because it had training in high-altitude rescue, a police spokeswoman explained on Wednesday.
