Headline: Footage Shows Gas Continues To Spurt From Nord Stream Pipelines

Caption: **VIDEO AVAILABLE: CONTACT INFO@COVERMG.COM TO RECEIVE** This footage shared by the Swedish Coast Guard on Wednesday shows methane gas leaking from the Nord Stream gas pipelines near the Danish island of Bornholm. EU officials have said the leaks in the pipelines from Russia to Europe were caused by sabotage - although they have not yet directly accused Russia, whose government have denied they are responsible. The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen has said an act of sabotage will be met with "strongest possible response". Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of a "terrorist attack".The EU has previously accused Russia of weaponising the pipeline by shutting it off. The operators of Nord Stream 2 first warned of a loss of pressure in the pipeline on Monday, with the operator of Nord Stream 1 saying the undersea pipelines had simultaneously sustained "unprecedented" damage on Tuesday. The gas leak has caused concerns over its contribution to climate change as methane is a potent greenhouse gas. In its environmental rescue mission, the Swedish Coast Guard's has the responsibility to combat releases of oil and other harmful substances at sea, which includes gas. Based on the current situation, it is not possible to limit or combat the release, but the gas dissolves little by little into both the water and the air. Given that the gas dissolves relatively quickly, the concentration and thus also the risks are reduced. The release itself is visible on the sea surface as a bubbling underwater plume and amounts to approx. 900 meters in diameter. An environmental rescue operation has been started and the Swedish Coast Guard's combination vessel KBV 003 Amfitrite will be in close proximity to the area and our aircraft is continuously patrolling the position.
