Headline: Haunting Footage Shows Claimed 'Mass Graves' Near Mariupol, Ukraine

Caption: **VIDEO AVAILABLE: CONTACT INFO@COVERMG.COM TO RECEIVE** This haunting drone footage, published on the Telegram app by Mariupol City Council on Monday (30May2022), claims to show mass graves in a cemetery near Mariupol. In a caption to the footage they claimed 25 new trench-type sectors appeared at the Starokrymsky cemetery in a month - and that bodies were being “placed in several layers”, and then “disguised” with as individual burials. "We estimated the number of dead Mariupol residents at 22 thousand. But more and more facts show that the consequences of the crime of the Russians are much worse. This requires special attention from the international community, as well as the terrible situation of the local population in the occupation," the Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko, wrote. Ukrainian authorities claim that since mid-April, Russian occupiers have buried at least 16,000 Mariupol residents in mass graves near the villages of Stary Krym - where the cemetery is located, Mangush and Vynohradne. They also stated that 5,000 people were buried by mid-March, when the city was under heavy siege but still partially under Ukrainian control and that thousands of bodies still remain under rubble, in makeshift cemeteries and in temporary mortuaries. According to the Mariupol City Council, the estimate of civilians killed by the Russian army may increase significantly. The city is now fully under the control of Russian forces, following the withdrawal of defenders from their last redoubt in the Azovstal steel plant in mid-May.
