Headline: Football Legend Andriy Shevchenko Appointed Charity Ambassador By Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Caption: Football legend Andriy Shevchenko met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday (18May2022) - and was appointed Ukraine’s first UNITED 24 Ambassador. The new initiative seeks to be the main hub for charitable donations to help Ukraine following Russia’s invasion, with money going towards aid, rebuilding projects, and demining efforts. In a statement, Zelenskyy said: “Andriy has gained great trust in the international arena with his work and sporting achievements. And now he has a new important mission - to tell the world about the events in Ukraine and to direct his authority to increase international assistance to our country. I'm sure you will succeed!” After beginning his career at Dynamo Kyiv, Shevchenko became one of the most feared strikers in Europe and won the Ballon d’Or award, the Champions League, and Serie A while playing for AC Milan. He later signed for Chelsea for a record breaking £30.8 million and played 111 times for his country, scoring 48 goals.
