Headline: Giant Puppet Of St David Parades Through The Streets Of St Davids, Pembrokeshire

Caption: A giant puppet of St David parades through the streets of St Davids, Pembrokeshire, the smallest city in the U.K. where the Welsh patron saint lived. The performance, lead by the puppet which was created by Small World Theatre, commenced from the Celtic Cross Garden, through to the 12th century cathedral, home to the shrine of St David himself. The collaborative arts project, commissioned by the EU fund ‘Ancient Connections,’ is to celebrate the ancient connections of folklore and history between North Pembrokeshire, Wales, and Northern Wexford, Ireland. The projected initially commenced with four of the commissioned ‘Creative Camino’ performers walking from Ferns, Co. Wexford, on the 1st May, before reaching their final destination at the St Davids Cathedral 8th May as part of a pilgrimage between the two Celtic nations. Historically St Davids has long been a popular place of pilgrimage after Pope Calixtus II granted a 'papal privilege' to the shrine stating that two pilgrimages to St David's is equal to that of one to Rome, and three were one to Jerusalem.
