Despite a long campaign and petition by Wornington Trees, a grassroots group of residents campaigning for almost one year to oppose the tree felling on Wornington Green and RBKC Council, a large part of the trees giving its name to the estate was felled during the last months. Wornington Trees Estate community representatives hope the help from renowned Tree Protectors will attract more attention from the media..Locals declare they repeatedly complained the lack of meaningful consultation with residents and the wider community and the lack of interest from the press. They believe any regeneration should be environmentally friendly and carried out in equal collaboration with residents, local community, the council and developer.
