Mermaid Joanne explains “Mermaiding is something I’ve been eager to try since I discovered tail makers such as The Mertailor way back in the mid 2000’s. I was a teen in comprehensive school with an awe and admiration for fantasy FX artists and mythological creatures. In 2018 I decided to take the plunge and try out a monofin. I’ve not parted with it since!” Mermaid Joanne is a real-life mermaid; when the pools are open she pops on her monofin and jumps right in. “Mermaiding” as it is known, is a fun form of exercise that is open to everyone who is physically fit and able to have a go. It’s a great workout for your core and spine.
