Headline: Studio.co.uk Announce Christmas Kindness Campaign

Caption: Peter Andre gets in the festive spirit as part of Studio.co.uk’s Christmas kindness campaign with research revealing that 47% Brits are refusing to let Covid cramp their Christmas - claiming they plan to spend the same or MORE this Christmas despite the pandemic. The research from online value retailer Studio.co.uk revealed that no matter what people spend it really is the thought that counts, with nearly a fifth (17%) saying they're looking for more thoughtful gifts this year. The findings also revealed that personalisation adds an average of £21 to the value of a gift, one in ten Brits believe that a personalised gift is over £50 more valuable than a similar, non-personalised one. A whopping 81% of respondents said they would find a gift giver particularly thoughtful if they sent a personalised gift to them. Nearly two-thirds (61%) said that the events of 2020 had encouraged them to show loved ones they care through thoughtful and kind gestures and gifts. Of those encouraged, more women (66%) appear to be acting this way than men (56%). Peter Andre, Studio.co.uk’s Christmas campaign ambassador said: “Christmas is always a time to give back and show our loved ones we care. After a difficult 2020, it is more important than ever to give gifts that make people feel special and loved. Every year I aim to give my family Christmas gifts that are cherished for years to come. A personalised gift is one way to go the extra mile to spread kindness this Christmas.” More women (20%) claim they will be changing the way they shop and hunting out thoughtful gifts this year to show their loved ones they care, compared to men (12%). Men appear to be less concerned by the impact of Covid than women, as 51% of blokes said they will be spending the same as usual or more. Meanwhile, women appear to be keeping a tighter grip on their purse strings, with 45% of them saying they would do the same, the poll revealed. Money aside, almost one-third of Brits (31%) vowed to shop as they usually do ahead of December 25th while more than a quarter (29%) have decided to dodge the high street crush and shop online more this year. Refusing to allow Covid to changes their habits, more men (35%) claim to be shopping for gifts in the same way they always have compared to women (28%). Meanwhile some have discovered their inner shopaholic, with 4% admitting to shopping more often than they used to before Covid struck and saying they will enjoy purchasing gifts this year. Chris Chalmers, Director at Studio.co.uk, said: “2020 has been a year like no other and has unfortunately meant many of us have been unable to make memories or spend quality time with our loved ones. It’s inspiring to see that Brits are determined to have a great Christmas and make up for lost time by sharing kind and thoughtful gifts with friends and family. Special touches like personalised gifts can mean so much and add value without breaking the bank.” Studio.co.uk offers 100s of gifts that can be personalised at no extra cost.
