Headline: Transit Employees Kept Secret 'Man Cave' Beneath Tracks

Caption: Employees kept a secret ‘man cave’ below subway tracks, according to New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) investigators. MTA Inspector General Carolyn Pokorny released a report Thursday (24 Sep) finding that at least 3 employees used a storage room at Metro-North's Grand Central Terminal as their personal “man cave” complete with a flat screen TV, couch, beer in Fridge, exercise equipment, microwave and beds. Additionally, OIG (Office of Inspector General) investigators found Grand Central management to be unaware of employees’ access to, or existence of storage rooms, and that Metro-North Security failed to take any steps to investigate the initial complaint. Metro-North served 3 employees with disciplinary charges, they have been suspended without pay pending resolution of each of their disciplinary matters. In addition to disciplinary recommendations, OIG also recommended MNR develop a formal process for tracking these complaints.
