Headline: Woman Walks Into Kitchen And Finds A Ten-Foot-Long Snake

Caption: How was your today? Angela Baranowskyj went into the kitchen at her workplace on Wednesday (1 July) to investigate smashing noises and found this slippery customer. Thankfully, being from Brisbane, Australia, Angela was able to calmly remove what is thought to be a hungry Carpet python snake from the premises. It had seemingly gone looking for a bite to eat. Coastal Carpet pythons, which can grow to more than 3 m in length, are non-venomous, but can give a damaging bite requiring a tetanus shot. Angela, 40, explains: “I work at a conference centre in Bardon that is closing down. I'm the conference and event manager. A door was left open overnight, a staff member found a chaffer dish on the ground broken from a high shelf and a knife on the ground but didn't know from what. I said I would look to see if any animals in the kitchen. I walked through the whole kitchen and nothing. “Seven hours later, I'm the only one at work and I hear smashing noises and come down to find him as per the picture. He smashed a butter dish. He must of been sleeping in one of the bottom cupboards, woke up and decided to check things out, went up the bench, weaved through the top cupboard, back down and across the bench. “He wasn’t aggressive, more scared, and didn't try strike at all; a bit of a hiss but mainly wanted off the cold benchtop without falling. “We got him out with a broom, a long pole and a garbage bin. Last I saw he was curling up behind the industrial gas cylinders for another snooze in the arvo sun.” Reaction to Angela’s shocking pictures ranged from sheer horror to affection for the slithery creature: Nancy Schneider: “If that happened at my work, I would not even give my two weeks notice. I would just walk out the door and send that picture as my resignation letter.” Jamie Hutchison: “I love it. Look at its little puppy face.”
