Headline: Is It A Bird? Odeon Luxe Nuneaton Flies High With Kes To Mark Official Relaunch

Caption: ODEON – the UK and Ireland’s largest cinema chain – has today marked the official opening of the newly refurbished ODEON Luxe Nuneaton, by affixing a larger-than-life Kes sculpture to its front signage. The gesture is a nod to Nuneaton-born legendary film Director, Ken Loach whose film Kes, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019. ODEON has a long history in the Nuneaton community and local film fans are guaranteed to be impressed by their new look cinema. The refurbishment includes an overhaul of the cinema technology with over 150 speakers offering breath-taking sound across the site and all screens delivering state-of-the-art picture quality. There is also a hero iSense screen standing taller than a double decker bus and measuring 14.5 metres in width, giving guests a spectacularly immersive experience. To add to the excitement, the Luxe offering includes handmade fully reclining chairs across the cinema and new upgraded food and drink options such as lattice fries, chicken strips, nachos, Tango Ice Blast and a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine with over 100 different flavours to enjoy. It also features an Oscar’s Bar serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Kes, which is seventh on the British Film Institute’s (BFI’s) list of best British films of all time, is based on Barry Hines’ 1968 novel, A Kestrel for a Knave, and tells the story of a young boy whose tough life is uplifted when he takes a kestrel from a nest on a farm and develops an interest in falconry. ODEON Luxe Nuneaton General Manager, Ryan Boucher said: “We are thrilled to launch ODEON Luxe Nuneaton with a special tribute to Ken Loach and the famed, Kes. We have some big film fans in Nuneaton, so it’s very special to mark this occasion with a nod to someone who has his roots in the area and has given so much to the film industry.” Guests at ODEON Luxe Nuneaton can enjoy the Winter’s biggest blockbusters in the newly upgraded cinema, including Jumanji: The Next Level (11 December), Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (19 December) and CATS (20 December).
