Headline: Mother Of Four Creates Amazing Halloween Crochet Costumes

Caption: PICTURE SHOWS: E.T. crochet costume .... STORY COPY: Stop already, these costumes win Halloween! Stephanie Pokorny, from Ohio, creates jaw-dropping costumes for her kids – completely from crochet. They include characters from films and TV including Alien, Predator, Harry Potter, Slimer from Ghostbusters, Skeletor from He-Man, and even creepy Pennywise from Stephen King’s It. Her younger boys, Jacob, 7, and four-year-old Jack, get to request designs every Halloween. Nimble-fingered Stephanie, 43, who works under the name Crochetverse, explains: “I create patterns for crochet, but during Halloween it has become a tradition in our home that my younger sons (I have 4 but the other two are older now) get to tell me anything they want to be and I create it for them. “I work with no pattern and they costumes are fully free-handed. I have been crocheting for over 20 years now and learned from my Grandma when I was 16. We are a huge vintage/retro/original version family so many times they pick things that are from big movies past. “A lot of people wonder if they are hot, but we live in Northeast Ohio where sometimes we get snow on Halloween, so they are actually a major win for our climate and the kids love them on that night. “Another common question is ‘how do they see?’. I work to create these so the details of the face are on the top head/forehead so when their chin is down, they appear seamless full-body, but they can definitely see when we are Trick or Treating.”
