Headline: Best Safari Guide Winner: Amazing Wildlife Photo Gallery

Caption: PICTURE SHOWS: Cheetahs ... STORY COPY: On Wednesday evening (2 Oct), Kenyan James Nampaso won the Best Safari Guide award at the Wanderlust World Guide Awards 2019. The ceremony was held at London’s Royal Geographical Society. As well as being one of the most respected guides in the world, James also happens to be a world class photographer, and Cover Images presents a gallery of some of his amazing shots. Friend, and co-owner of Kicheche Camps (www.kicheche.com) in Kenya, where James guides, Paul Goldstein says: “This humble Masai has only been on a plane once before and is already longing for the dotted plains of his Masai Mara Conservancy. James however is proud to be in London representing Kicheche Camps, a small independent company he has worked for 15 years, starting as a tent attendant before becoming one of the most popular guides in the whole Masai Mara." James says: “I adore my job and love sharing Olare Conservancy with my guests: these priceless parcels of land are the future for wildlife and for anyone connected with this beautiful area. Properly managed, where all stakeholders benefit, I do not believe there is anywhere else that compares.” Paul adds: “Kicheche Camp James has a repeat list of guests longer than an elephant's trunk, many who have to book more than a year in advance. A good number are very competent wildlife photographers, keen to jump in with ‘Bwana Chui’, so named as he is so ridiculously adept at locating the elusive yet enigmatic leopard. “James has also developed into a fine photographer in his own right as this lavish lexicon illustrates and he is never happier than being stood up, head through the hatch of his faithful land-cruiser with his precision optics trained on a tawny predator.” James says: “Small and sensitive safaris will always win over mainstream parades, and there has never been a day where I have not woken up excited to be guiding alongside my colleagues at Kicheche in a Conservancy we call paradise, but a hard-earned paradise. I am thankful that I am just allowed to get on with my job and the eco-gold winning Kicheche is a company that really cares about the wildlife, the environment, the local Maasai and indeed its staff."
