Headline: Saved: Dog Stuck In Tar

Caption: This dog was in a sticky – and deathly situation - after becoming trapped in tar. Workers near a remote wooded area in Suwałki, Poland, heard a distant barking, and luckily decided to investigate. Finding the male dog half submerged in what is thought to be illegally dumped tar, they called Joanna Godlewska, of Niczyje Animal Foundation. A team painstakingly released the dog, using cooking oil and scissors to clip away stuck tar. It was then scrubbed clean of the substance. Thankfully, the dog - who rescuers named Farcik (Polish for luck) - has recovered well after being treated for exhaustion and given antibiotics. He has also already been adopted. Joanna said Farcik’s bravery is what saved him. She told Cover Images: “Farcik was a star made of stone. He is getting healthier, after we have cleaned the remains of the tar from his ear. He’s a very friendly dog and will live in a house in the south of Poland.”
